Souths gear up for new season

Souths rugby league club looking ahead

ONCE a glamour team in the toughest Port Moresby rugby league competition, Souths rugby league club are gearing up for this season with the aim of developing its young players.

President of the club, James Hol said on Friday that the team has lost many of its great players to other teams after club went into court battle but after reimbursing Port Moresby Rugby League’s  legal fee of K12,000 as claimed by Hol, the team is back to show other clubs that they mean business this seasoon. With the help of prominent Southern Highlanders, the team was rescued last year and this year, they are dead set to make a come back in the capital competition.

Not only that they did well by finishing in the top five last year but bowed out in the first play off and a much-improved performance is looming this season.

Meanwhile the club executives appointed for this year are James Hol (President), Tom Tiki (Treasurer), Joe Degemba (Secretary and the team will be managed by Ralph Jomoro:
 Interested and old players are urge to turn up training at the Unagi oval just at the five mile round about.
